Tatiparthi Rama Rao, one of Andhra Pradesh's most feared killers, was found dead in Agiripalli, Krishna district on Sunday morning.
As indications on the victim's body suggested that he was stabbed, the police held the locals responsible for his death and denied the possibility of police involvement in Ramarao's murder.
The locals of Agiripalli noticed the body in the morning, but it took the investigating police 5 hours to identify it. They were aided by Ramarao's brother-in-law Srinivas Rao in confirming the identity, and Ramarao's body was sent for further forensic study.
Tatiparthi Ramarao was wanted for murder in 7 cases. Committing the murders in Rudrakshapalli on Dec 21st 2005, he was apprehended by the police and jailed in the Krishna district. He escaped out of prison within a month, and 2 times again following that escape, the
latest being from the Srikakulam jail.
Ramarao is also wanted for robbery and murder in cold blood in Kurnool, Krishna and other districts.
The police has been investigating his murder since Sunday morning, and suspects those taking vengeance on him, as perpetrators of the crime.
